People Before Politics Means Action Not Insults
If your slogan is “People over politics” than it should what you practice. Constantly vilifying the opposing political party means you do not practice what you preach. When my opponent was asked about how to bring civility back into politics he responded by saying “it starts locally” and continued to criticize his opponent from 2018.To bring back civility into politics and get rid of the violent rhetoric, the first thing we need to do is look in the mirror. What am I doing to fix this problem? How can I be a good role model? Change does start locally but it really starts in the mirror.
Constantly disparaging the other party does not help anyone. It definitely is not putting people over politics. We need to listen to everyone, think about different points of view. Try and see where people are coming from. Even if your opinion is different from mine, I would not end the conversation with, “you are too extreme for me to talk to you.” I would want to see you were you are coming from.
Honestly, I believe we are tired of the party nonsence.
People want actions, solutions, not petty insults. I was always taught to be proactive instead of reactive. It took me a lot of self reflection to learn what this really means, but as I ran my business I learned what a time waster being reactive is, and how much division it causes.
I am asking for your support this election as someone who is done playing games and party politics. I understand what is really means to serve the public. I will listen to you and seek solutions, not point fingers.
It’s time for real change in the 70th, not just more of the sRandi Olson for State Representative State Representative
